Consider helping a family in pursuit of Christian education for their child!

Family Story

Alex has had a lifetime of hardships. Alex has never had a stable father figure. His father was an alcoholic and never maintained a positive influence. In 1999, Victor, his father, was deported to El Salvador because he failed to obtain his citizenship. He, his mother, and sister moved to Las Vegas to attempt to begin a new life. When Alex's grandmother became sick, the family decided to return to California. After her passing, the family returned to Las Vegas to rebuild their lives. In January of 2009, Alex's sister, Ashley was killed in a terrible car accident. Alex experienced great difficulty in attending school where, at every turn, he was reminded of his sister. In the Fall of 2009, he was afforded the opportunity to attend Lake Mead Christian Academy. He has experienced setbacks while attending Lake Mead, but he has a desire to be successful and to change his life. I am currently employed part time at Smith's. I work shifts at two or three different stores during the week to try to work forty hours. My brother, his wife, and two daughters are currently living with us because they lost their home. I am doing what I can to support Alex and encourage him in his Christian education. Unfortunately, it is difficult to make ends meet in this difficult economy. I pray that you will consider Alex for financial assitance.

Student Goals:

After graduating from Lake Mead Christian Academy, Alex plans on playing college basketball and then attending law school.
