I want to express my gratitude to the individuals who have made it possible for my children to attend LMCA. My oldest son is currently a sophomore at LMCA. He has been a student at the school since the second grade. This summer we found ourselves in a difficult situation, we could not afford to send him back to the school. He was devastated and so were we. We have a daughter who is now six years old. When she was born she was diagnosed with a serious heart defect that required four open heart surgeries and countless long hospital stays. Her condition is not treated here in town so in order for her to get the care that she needs we have to travel between Vegas and Los Angeles, California. In addition to having extra medical bills I had to quit my job in order to take care of my child. I have since returned to work but have been unable to keep up with the mounting medical bills. The scholarship that was offered to my son has allowed him to continue a Christian education. Thank You!!!
We are lifelong attendees of LMCA, our three little ones have never known another school. Now all three are Junior High students, and we've experienced year after year the incredible benefits of having our kids attend a school that is in perfect alignment with our faith, as well as academically accelerated.
Due to the difficult construction market in the Las Vegas valley, I was forced last year to change careers and begin the slow road of developing an insurance agency. The financial hardships finally closed in on our education budget, and it was apparent that we would not be anywhere close to the income needed to afford private school. It was with sadness and admittedly some fear that we evaluated the public school options available. At risk of sounding too derogatory about the public school system of our valley, we finally enrolled them in what we felt was the best available option, and had been anticipating the culture shock as our kids transitioned into the public school system.
Glen called about a week before school at LMCA started, mentioned that a donor had made several spots available for parents that could not afford tuition, and invited me to come down and re-register my children. I was very literally breathless. My kids literally squeaked with excitement through the phone when I finally gathered myself and called to tell them. I was stunned and spent several days fighting back tears of joy and gratitude. I'll never forget the first day of school; the shock and excitement of friends they had known since kindergarten but didn't think would be classmates any longer. It was such an amazing moment.
As my new career develops, and my personal budget expands beyond the needs of my own three students, I plan to "pay forward" the generosity shown my family. Donors responding faithfully to God's call in this manner may never fully know what it means in the life of the student, or the heart of the parent. I strive for the day I join their ranks having been the recipient of such generosity and faithfulness.
As you know my wife Susie and I are Meghan Hanley's grandparents and have been very involved in Meghan's attending LMCA, we have always felt it was God's will for her to attend this fine school. On July 15th of this year I lost my job and shortly thereafter Meghan's mother was laid off as well, needless to say this set of circumstances made it impossible for us to help financially as we don't really even have enough money to live on. Though we still felt it was God's will for her to attend, we could see no earthly way for that to come about, however, the good news is that God can make a way when there seems to be no way, and He did just that through some obedient and very generous servants of Christ. Meghan was awarded a scholarship that covers tuition, books, computer and fees. This could not have happened were it not for the generosity of people whom we don't even know but for whom we thank God every day.
We believe that our situation is temporary and that we will soon be back on our feet financially and are looking forward to stepping into the gap for future students of LMCA as these dear saints did for Meghan.
Please express our deepest gratitude for their generosity and let them know that they are in our prayers daily.
